📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and API integrations in Go connecting the platform to external billing systems • Lead the design and delivery of usage-based billing features, including usage aggregation, estimates, usage alerts, and invoicing • Own complex components end to end from technical design through production • Shape component architecture, weigh trade-offs, and balance short-term delivery with long-term reliability • Troubleshoot complex issues across distributed services and external APIs, fixing root causes • Identify and deliver improvements in reliability, security, observability, and processes • Contribute to anti-abuse measures and apply security best practices to sensitive customer and payment data • Support engineers through code reviews, pairing, and mentoring • Partner with Finance, Product, Support, and engineering teams across multiple time zones • Communicate asynchronously across a distributed, global team

🎯 Requirements

• Deep professional backend development in Go, building services in distributed systems • Experience designing backend systems and making architecture decisions that held up in production • Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL/MariaDB, including data modeling, migrations, and performance • Track record integrating third-party APIs with rate limits, uptime constraints, idempotency, retries, and consistency considerations • Experience in domains where correctness matters, such as billing or payments • Commitment to testing failure paths • Solid understanding of common vulnerabilities and security considerations in payment and billing systems • Experience mentoring engineers or guiding technical work while staying hands-on • Interest in working on billing and financial systems • Clear written communication and ability to build agreement across a distributed team • Legally authorized to work in Canada, France, Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, or the United States • Must complete a background check
