📋 Description

• Split time approximately 50% writing production code and 50% on planning, technical direction, and team development • Lead a small fullstack engineering team within a distributed SaaS environment • Design and ship fullstack features end-to-end across Java services and APIs, PostgreSQL data schemas, and React UI • Lead technical design for distributed systems, including microservices and event-driven architectures with Kafka or similar technologies • Write design documents and evaluate technical tradeoffs • Modernize legacy code and lead monolith-to-microservices migrations • Use AI coding tools daily and support opinions with concrete examples • Pilot and standardize AI and agentic workflows for code, review, QA, and documentation with guardrails and measurable results • Raise engineering quality through code reviews, pairing, and personal pull requests • Coach engineers through clear expectations, direct feedback, and one-to-one meetings • Run planning, prioritization, and estimation against the roadmap • Turn ambiguous requirements into clear plans • Improve CI/CD, testing, and observability practices across Azure, AWS, or GCP

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of professional engineering experience, including 3+ years leading delivery as a team lead or tech lead • Strong fullstack capability: deep on one side, real working competence on the other • Backend expertise in Java and PostgreSQL • Frontend expertise in React • Strong system design skills: distributed systems, REST APIs, event-driven architectures, microservices, and data-intensive applications • Production operational experience with Docker, CI/CD, and observability • Active daily use of AI coding tools; able to explain what is used, what was stopped, and why, with examples • Test automation experience with JUnit, Playwright, or Cypress • Experience with cloud platforms: Azure preferred; AWS or GCP acceptable • Experience working in Agile, cross-functional teams • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to represent technical decisions clearly across teams • Fluent English at C1/C2 level is mandatory • Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Redis is preferred • Kubernetes experience is an advantage
