📋 Description

• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for the integration of Decision Precision Plus (DP+) and backend microservices • Drive the design, implementation, and modernization of cloud-native, standards-based healthcare solutions • Lead the technical vision and system architecture for DP+ integration and backend shared services supporting Lung Cancer Screening (LCS) and Clinical Decision Support (CDS) Hooks • Design and implement scalable, reusable microservices using modern frameworks (Java/Spring Boot, Kubernetes, AWS) and healthcare standards (FHIR, OpenAPI) • Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, and development teams to gather requirements and translate them into detailed architectural plans and technical roadmaps • Develop and maintain architectural diagrams, system/network/deployment diagrams, solution context diagrams, interaction models, sequence diagrams, and process flows • Ensure interoperability and integration across VA EHR systems (CPRS, Cerner Oracle, VistA) and external platforms • Oversee the adoption of cloud platforms and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline setup (Jenkins), observability, and security • Guide the team in implementing policy engines, authentication (OAuth), and secure service design • Provide technical leadership in architecture reviews, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and compliance with federal standards • Author and maintain comprehensive technical documentation (system design documents, Swagger/OpenAPI specs, onboarding packages) • Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and VA standards to propose innovative solutions • Participate in Agile ceremonies and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field • 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, software development, and cloud-native system design • Proven experience designing and implementing microservices architectures in healthcare or federal IT environments • Deep knowledge of FHIR, RESTful APIs, OpenAPI, and integration with EHR systems • Hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot), Kubernetes, AWS, and DevOps tools (Jenkins, CI/CD) • Strong understanding of security, compliance, and policy-based access control in cloud environments • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality technical documentation • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
