• Conduct advanced regulatory research using the databases of ANVISA and MAPA, as well as international platforms such as Mercosur, EFSA, FDA, and Health Canada • Read, interpret, and apply national and international food-sector legislation, guidelines, regulations, and technical-scientific information • Clarify technical questions and provide regulatory guidance to clients • Prepare regulatory opinions • Assess product formulas and regulatory classification in accordance with ANVISA and MAPA identity and quality standards and technical regulations • Prepare food labeling statements and label artwork • Assess food product specifications based on compendia accepted by ANVISA • Prepare and monitor product registration, notification, manufacturing commencement notices, and importation processes • Guide and review stability studies for submission to ANVISA • Prepare applications for sanitary licenses/permits and company registration • Provide guidance on food import and export processes • Prepare feasibility studies and technical-scientific reports for safety and efficacy assessments • Prepare responses to technical requirements and administrative appeals • Assess regulatory risks, opportunities, and strategies • Take technical ownership in client engagements • Contribute suggestions for amendments to the national regulatory framework and to ANVISA public consultations
• Academic background in Food Engineering, Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field • Experience managing approval processes for novel ingredients, including probiotics and enzymes, food additives, and/or processing aids • Intermediate English proficiency, with strong reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills for analyzing international documents • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat • Excellent ability to understand, interpret, and synthesize technical and scientific texts in Portuguese and English • Solid knowledge of research methodology and searches in scientific databases
