âą The Senior Medical Writer is the medical content lead for individual accounts and is responsible for the day-to-day development of high quality strategic and scientifically accurate medical content for target healthcare audiences, while adhering to budget and timelines. âą Critically evaluate, analyze, and interpret medical literature to develop and assist in the development of medical education activities, including but not limited to advisory boards and slide decks. âą Adequately reference all content using approved client materials for guidance and securing additional references or information as necessary. âą Develop and maintain expertise in various therapeutic areas, including CNS, oncology, and rare disease. âą Actively participate in client meetings and regulatory review for assigned projects, incorporating feedback and preparing projects for submission. âą Be well versed in established professional medical editorial processes (eg, AMA style) and ethical guidelines. âą Work collaboratively with internal teams (accounts, digital, shared services) and clients to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. âą Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. âą Travel to clients and meetings as needed.
âą PhD, PharmD, or MD required âą Minimum of 2 years of experience as a medical writer in the medical communications or advertising fields required âą Proven content development experience âą Diverse therapeutic area expertise (CNS and oncology preferred) and the ability and willingness to learn new areas âą Solid understanding of pharmaceutical industry, including familiarity with the promotional review process âą Ability to quickly learn new medical/marketing subject matter and correctly interpret medical data âą High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy with medical content, including referencing âą Proven time management skills, including successful track record of meeting deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously âą Excellent oral communication skills with clients, KOLs, and internal team members âą Strong listening and analytical skills âą Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (eg, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and AMA guidelines âą Ability to work both independently and as a team member âą Good organizational and interpersonal skills âą Strong team player
