📋 Description

• Design and evolve our Kafka-as-a-Service platform built on Confluent Cloud. • Architect scalable, secure, and resilient Kafka deployments across multiple regions. • Develop platform automation and tooling using Python, Java, or Go. • Design and implement Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform on AWS. • Improve platform capabilities including observability, reliability, scalability, and operational automation. • Guide engineering teams in designing event-driven architectures. • Provide best practices for topic design and partitioning strategies, consumer scaling and performance optimization, schema governance and evolution, event versioning strategies. • Design and implement self-service platform capabilities for internal engineering teams. • Improve platform reliability, monitoring, and incident response processes. • Participate in and help lead on-call rotations and incident resolution. • Drive automation that reduces operational overhead and improves platform resilience.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience). • 5-8 years of professional software engineering experience. • Strong programming experience in Python, Java, or Go. • Hands-on experience with Kafka administration or operations (Confluent Cloud preferred). • Experience designing or operating distributed systems in production. • Strong experience with AWS cloud infrastructure. • Experience building Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or similar tools. • Experience operating and troubleshooting production systems at scale. • Strong understanding of distributed systems fundamentals.
