📋 Description

• Build and improve the ways people pay with Wave • Own the process from understanding the problem through shipping solutions to users and helping customer support resolve problems • Work in an autonomous, cross-functional team focused on a single area of Wave's product • Develop features and improvements end-to-end, from design through deployment • Enable Wave app payments for products in stores • Integrate with electrical utility companies for bill payments • Build tools for business owners to pay employee salaries using Wave • Enable transportation payments for taxis, trains, and buses • Work across backend, API, mobile, web frontend, database, infrastructure, and orchestration systems • Address operational issues, clarify product specifications, and work in unfamiliar code to unblock teammates • Write small pull requests, aim for MVPs, and balance speed with correctness and security for financial products

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a product engineer • Fluent in English • Bilingual in French is a big bonus • Willingness to travel to one of Wave's operating locations at least once per year for a minimum of 6 consecutive days • Must be based in the UK, Spain, Kenya, Ghana, Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, or Burkina Faso • Willingness to work across the entire stack, including mobile • Prior experience with the listed technologies is a strong plus, but not required
