📋 Description

• Design and own backend services in NestJS and TypeScript, from schema to production • Make independent architecture decisions focused on scalability, maintainability, and reliability • Build and maintain GraphQL APIs in a microservices environment • Own database design, optimization, and reliability in Postgres • Define technical direction beyond implementation details • Set and enforce quality standards across AI-generated and manually written code • Translate ambiguous product needs into clear technical solutions • Contribute to system design, infrastructure decisions, testing strategy, and developer productivity • Operate in an AI-first workflow while maintaining engineering standards • Move quickly, think at systems level, and make strong technical decisions with minimal hand-holding

🎯 Requirements

• Highly senior backend engineer capable of operating at Lead Engineer / Architect level • Previous responsibilities similar to Lead Engineer or Architect • At least 5 years of work experience in software development • At least 2 years of experience in Nest.js • At least 2 years of work experience with databases • At least 2 years of work experience with Postgres, GraphQL, and TypeORM • 3+ years of experience with Node.js • 3+ years of work experience with TypeScript • Bachelor's Degree • Degree in IT or Computer Science or equivalent experience • Strong AI tools proficiency in software engineering workflows • Ability to use AI for implementation, debugging, documentation, and problem-solving • Backend development strength • English conversational skills • Must be currently based in LATAM • Strong judgment regarding architecture, correctness, security, performance, and reliability
