📋 Description

• Architect and implement backend capabilities for global, high-scale cloud infrastructure services • Build, test, deploy, and maintain backend services and platform capabilities • Develop and integrate APIs using established service and architecture patterns • Work with relational data stores and reliable data access and service integration patterns • Contribute to event-driven and asynchronous workflows, message-based processing, and background jobs • Run and support services across cloud and platform environments, including managed cloud services, containers, and virtual machines • Use CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code workflows to deliver changes safely and repeatably • Use logs, metrics, and traces to understand application behavior and diagnose production issues • Participate in technical design discussions, ADRs, RFCs, and code reviews • Own defined work areas and collaborate with experienced engineers on architectural and cross-team decisions • Use AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate development, improve testing, explore codebases, and investigate technical problems • Maintain ownership of services from initial design through observability and technical support

🎯 Requirements

• Solid software engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience building backend services or web platforms • Go/Python preferred; strong experience with another backend language is equally relevant if able to learn new technologies quickly • Practical exposure to public cloud or modern platform environments • Experience with either GCP or AWS is valuable • Understanding of distributed systems fundamentals • Practical exposure to event-driven systems, asynchronous processing, and scalability • Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and monitoring using logs and metrics • Familiarity with Identity and Access Management, authentication/authorization fundamentals, and basic cloud security practices • Sound engineering practices including SOLID principles, automated testing, and technical documentation • Thoughtful use of modern AI tools for implementation, code exploration, and debugging • Helpful experience: Go, PHP, Ruby, Python; GCP, AWS, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, GKE, EC2, S3; Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform; OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Datadog
