📋 Description
• Accurately codes and/or audits complex surgical procedures including Bariatric surgery and Cardiothoracic surgery • Reviews and interprets medical record documentation to assign appropriate codes • Maintains and enhances coding knowledge through quality review and participation in seminars
🎯 Requirements
• High School Diploma or Equivalent • Current HIM/Coding Certification through AHIMA or AAPC • Must obtain Specialty Medical Coding Certification through AAPC within one (1) year of hire • Three (3) years of medical coding experience including one (1) year of advanced surgical coding experience
