âą Under the supervision of the Engineering Manager or of the Customer's Project Manager, you will be responsible for: âą RF, cellular and distributed antenna systems (DAS) design âą Requirements definition and network analysis âą Simulations using modeling tools such as: InfoVista Planet, IBWave, Ekahau including defining propagation models, 4G/5G frame structure and simulation parameters âą Design of passive and active DAS systems, small cell, micro cell, pico cell âą Link budgets, coverage and capacity planning of LTE, 5G-NR, and Wi-Fi networks âą Design of cellular networks using LTE, LTE+, 5G-NR, Wi-Fi technologies âą Design of private cellular networks for Industry 4.0 and critical infrastructure operators such as Manufacturers and processors of critical materials, mines, commercial and passenger rail, and electric utilities âą Creating BOM and CAPEX and OPEX estimates for cellular and Wi-Fi networks âą Drafting of functional and technical specifications and requirements âą Drafting of specifications and performance estimates âą Selection and design of RF transmission sites âą Development of interconnection specifications âą Follow-up of network expertise and optimization âą Quality of service audit for DAS and small cell installations âą Cellular coverage and performance measurements - walk-test & drive-test
âą Electrical or computer engineering degree from a recognized engineering school âą Member of Engineers Nova Scotia âą 5 to 8 years of experience related to the RF domain âą Knowledge with cellular network using technologies LTE, LTE+, 5G-NR, Wi-Fi âą Knowledge and experience in the Maritime market (operators and infrastructure present) âą Working knowledge of modelling tools such as: InfoVista Planet, Ekahau, IBWave (IBWave level 2 certification an asset) âą Participation to telecom projects such as cellular network and DAS design projects âą Knowledge of interference issues, Safety Code 6, micro-waves interconnexion or optic fiber âą Knowledge of service deployment issues âą Planning, design, coordination and project management âą Autonomous, responsible, and self-motivated âą Good verbal and written communication skills âą Must be able to travel around Halifax region
