📋 Description

• Manage and dispatch assigned trucks across East Coast, West Coast, and nationwide lanes • Maintain consistent communication with drivers regarding load assignments, pickup and delivery times, routes, delays, and operational issues • Actively search load boards and other sources for freight matching each truck’s location, equipment, schedule, and desired lanes • Negotiate rates with freight brokers and secure profitable loads • Minimize deadhead and empty miles by planning ahead and identifying the next load • Coordinate pickups and deliveries and ensure drivers have necessary load information and documentation • Track trucks and shipments throughout transit and proactively communicate delays or service issues • Build and maintain relationships with brokers and transportation partners • Understand regional freight markets and recognize strong and weak lanes • Assist drivers with issues while under load and find solutions quickly • Maintain accurate load, driver, rate, and operational information • Work closely with Brothers Freight leadership to maximize fleet utilization, service levels, and profitability

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a dispatcher within the U.S. trucking industry • Experience actively finding and booking loads, not solely tracking existing shipments • Strong understanding of U.S. geography, freight lanes, and trucking operations • Experience using load boards such as DAT, Truckstop, or similar platforms • Ability to communicate professionally and confidently with drivers and freight brokers • Experience negotiating freight rates is strongly preferred • Ability to manage multiple trucks and priorities simultaneously • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to react quickly when loads, appointments, or driver schedules change • Strong written and verbal English communication skills • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of assigned trucks
