β’ Manage and prioritise a caseload of around 50 research contracts β’ Identify and escalate contractual or project risks appropriately β’ Complete third-party due diligence, including credit, insurance, policy and risk assessment checks β’ Review, draft and negotiate research agreements, including collaboration agreements, subcontracts, NDAs, MTAs, amendments and studentship agreements β’ Coordinate framework agreement work orders and internal approvals β’ Assess project activities, research outputs and intellectual property against Trusted Research and Innovation requirements β’ Collaborate with scientists and professional services colleagues to resolve contractual issues and secure approvals β’ Advise Tender Support colleagues on contractual aspects of research tenders, bids and grant applications β’ Maintain accurate contract records β’ Support agreements through signature, project handover, close-down and archiving β’ Sign contracts valued up to Β£250,000 in accordance with UKCEH policy and delegated authority permissions β’ Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the Contracts and Compliance team
β’ Previous experience of either drafting straightforward contracts or completing documents (such as but not limited to legal documents, using information drawn from a range of sources) β’ Demonstrable administrative and IT skills β’ Experience using Microsoft SharePoint and Outlook, contract management databases and project management software β’ Strong workload management and prioritisation skills β’ Ability to manage varied work and multiple deadlines β’ Good judgement about when to escalate an issue β’ Investigative approach and strong attention to detail β’ Ability to identify issues or inconsistencies β’ Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a complex office environment is helpful β’ Understanding of scientific research, intellectual property, or research funders and their requirements is helpful β’ Experience working in a legal, research contracts or other complex organisation is helpful β’ Experience using ERP or contract management systems is helpful β’ Experience managing busy shared mailboxes is helpful β’ Strong analytical skills are helpful β’ Ability to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is unavailable
