📋 Description

• Lead the application security team across application security, cloud security, and internal tooling development • Lead first- and third-party vulnerability management, including coordinated disclosure and embargoed fixes • Define and implement engineering strategy with security leadership, individual contributors, and business stakeholders • Conduct regular 1:1s, coaching, mentoring, and continuous feedback • Collaborate with engineering leaders and stakeholders on product strategy, roadmaps, and designs • Participate in significant incidents through preparation, simulation, response, and customer communications • Contribute to and review design documents, ensure projects are development-ready, and advise on task breakdown

🎯 Requirements

• Prior experience running a security engineering team • Strong engineering background and ability to engage in technical conversations • Ability to work with autonomous engineering teams • Up-to-date understanding of technical trends and security challenges • DevOps mindset focused on enablement, automation, and guardrails • Familiarity with securing and operating on public cloud providers: AWS, GCP, and Azure • Familiarity with Kubernetes • Experience securing combined open-source software (OSS) and SaaS products • Ability to communicate complex cybersecurity concepts to technical and non-technical audiences • Bonus: programming or software engineering experience • Bonus: Working knowledge of Grafana Labs OSS projects and products • Bonus: Experience using observability tooling to solve security problems • Bonus: Experience working with OSS communities • Bonus: Experience securing large-scale distributed systems
