📋 Description

• Design, produce, test and implement working software across the system lifecycle • Lead technical delivery within a permanent feature team • Develop knowledge of the associated platform across business, applications, data and infrastructure disciplines • Liaise with principal engineers, domain architects and key stakeholders to understand platform operation and business objectives • Supervise solution design options and explain trade-offs to stakeholders • Lead estimation activities and ensure delivery plans reflect technical complexity, maintainability and supportability • Apply Agile methods to software development on the backlog • Produce resilient, long-lived software and adapt to future needs • Deliver intentional architecture and formulate emergent design through innovation, experimentation and prototyping • Design and develop software with automation of build, test and deployment activities using executable patterns

🎯 Requirements

• Experience working in banking or financial services • Strong hands-on experience developing and delivering solutions using modern Java technologies • Experience designing and developing microservices and distributed systems • Strong understanding of software architecture and design principles • Expertise working with relational databases, ideally Oracle or PostgreSQL • Experience building cloud-based solutions in AWS • Experience leading implementation of programming best practices around scalability, automation, virtualisation, optimisation, availability and performance • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions • Collaboration skills to work with business teams on pragmatic solutions • Experience of information security policies and practices within the financial sector • Exposure to AI technologies such as LLMs, machine learning, or agentic systems • Experience leading or mentoring engineers • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills • Familiarity with Spring Boot, Kafka, Kubernetes, and Agile delivery practices beneficial
