📋 Description

• Execute startup, commissioning, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair activities on electrical power distribution equipment • Perform field service activities on low- and medium-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, protective relays, automatic transfer switches (ATS), PLCs, and power management systems • Diagnose equipment and system failures and implement corrective actions • Support retrofits, upgrades, modernization projects, and emergency service calls • Develop electrical drawings, schematics, and bills of material as required • Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain strong customer relationships • Prepare service reports, commissioning reports, and customer documentation • Perform work primarily in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, including engineering preparation remotely and installation at customer sites

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, plus 5+ years of field service or engineering experience in electrical power distribution systems • Additional formal education may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis • Strong working knowledge of low- and medium-voltage switchgear and circuit breakers • Experience commissioning, maintaining, or troubleshooting power distribution equipment • Mechanical and Electrical Testing of Low- and Medium-Voltage Equipment • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and protection/control drawings • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 80% • Candidates must already have work authorization allowing them to work for ABB in the United States • Preferred: experience with Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), protective relays (SEL, GE Multilin, or equivalent), generator control systems, PLC and HMI platforms • Preferred: experience commissioning, maintaining, or troubleshooting power distribution equipment in industrial, utility, commercial, or data center environments
