📋 Description

• Oversee and lead the safety, productivity, quality, and crew personnel performance of advanced diagnostics for underground medium- and high-voltage power cables • Ensure proper use of instrumentation, equipment, and diagnostic methodology • Supervise work crews and assess the integrity and technical quality of diagnostic data • Prepare for field assignments using pre-project and project plan information • Formulate daily project plans with customer field supervisors • Provide on-site customer training on safety, test equipment, and test procedures • Inspect test environments for factors affecting cable performance and diagnostic results • Direct customers and contractors on-site and implement required preparatory or corrective actions • Determine and lead field approaches to meet customer needs and solve customer problems • Maintain positive relationships with multiple customer representatives • Perform advanced cable diagnostics at customer sites in the U.S. utility market • Troubleshoot and repair diagnostic and electromechanical equipment and systems • Operate advanced diagnostics equipment and acquire on-site test data • Assess on-site data using partial discharge principles and determine whether it supports meaningful analysis • Meet field performance standards and complete cable matching procedures • Record technical and administrative data related to diagnostics • Escalate critical technical and administrative issues to the remote support team • Comply with company technical, administrative, safety, and deadline requirements • Participate in required meetings, training sessions, and scheduled activities • Lead assistant crew in cable reliability management actions, including mitigation and splicing • Move, maintain, and manage supplies and inventory for the Mobile Diagnostic Unit • Provide shadow training to other field associates when assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology or equivalent • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, engineering technology or equivalent is a plus • At least one year experience in power utilities field service is a plus • Experience testing low-voltage and high-voltage power systems is a plus • Knowledge of fundamentals of electrical and electronic engineering and systems • Knowledge of fundamentals of analog and digital signal processing theory • Meet all certification and safety/compliance requirements on a timely basis • Ability to travel up to 70% • Ability to work in diverse, challenging and unpredictable field settings • Ability to troubleshoot and repair analog and digital circuitry, high frequency and fiber optic interfaces, computer subsystems, and electromechanical equipment • Ability to operate advanced diagnostics equipment • Knowledge of partial discharge principles and cable matching procedures • Full-time employees are eligible for the benefits package
