• Provide technical, clinical, and programming assistance primarily in support of 1–2 Territory Managers • Assist Territory Managers with after-hours call support and activities • Integrate into accounts, build trust and relationships, and establish rapport with customers • Provide complex programming and case support • Conduct PCP work and educational in-services as directed • Contact, visit, and engage clients and potential clients regarding Abbott products • Address client questions and concerns • Provide medical professionals with sales support, product information, training, staff education, in-services, and technical troubleshooting • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of assigned accounts, customers, and competitor activity • Evaluate and develop sales strategies for capital equipment opportunities • Monitor new and existing products, competitor sales, prices, and products • Provide feedback to providers on directions for use of implantable devices in and outside operating-room settings • Attend trade shows and conferences as needed • Identify customer training and in-service needs to increase usage, comfort, and understanding of Abbott Chronic Pain Therapies • Comply with FDA regulations, regulatory requirements, company policies, procedures, processes, and assignments • Maintain positive and cooperative communication and collaboration with employees, customers, contractors, and vendors • Perform other related duties as assigned
• Bachelor’s Degree in biomedical engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience • 1–2 years’ work experience, preferably collaborating with patients in a clinical setting • Ability to communicate, understand, and educate clinical data in the Chronic Pain Therapies space • Strong clinical skills • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills • Excellent interpersonal verbal, written, and presentation skills • Ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels and to large groups • Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external customers • Ability to work an unpredictable schedule that may change on short notice due to operating room schedule changes or delays • Ability to manage tight deadlines and multiple tasks • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment • Ability to work both within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines • Ability to engage customers in selling conversations as needed and as directed by the Territory Manager • Ability to travel 25% within and/or outside the assigned region • Preferred: patient interaction experience in a healthcare-related environment, such as Physical Therapy, medical product sales, RN, or LPN • Preferred: experience in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model • Preferred: 1–3 years’ experience with Abbott, in a similar spinal cord stimulation setting, or with another implantable medical device company
