📋 Description

• Review clinical genetic testing data and test reports • Troubleshoot testing issues and review scientific literature • Interpret genetic variants and write/edit genetic test reports • Sign out laboratory test results for performed tests • Curate gene panels using comprehensive gene lists supported by scientific literature • Coordinate and lead process improvement projects focused on cost savings, efficiency, and productivity • Troubleshoot technical problems and ensure remedial actions are taken when systems deviate from laboratory standards • Serve as an exception handler and expert resource for complex cases • Participate in test methodology selection and improve systems, processes, and procedures • Develop and coach others • Promote communication, collaboration, employee development, cross-functional teamwork, and conflict resolution • Communicate across organizational levels and represent the company at conferences • Comply with SOPs, regulations, and Quality Management System policies • Uphold company mission and values and maintain regular, reliable attendance

🎯 Requirements

• Doctoral Degree in a Chemical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory science from an accredited institution, plus required certification; or Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree with qualifying clinical laboratory experience and pathology certification • Certification by ABB as a High-Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director (HCLD), ABMGG in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics, Molecular Genetics, or Cytogenetics, or CCMG; certifications must be held at hire and maintained throughout employment • 3+ years in a clinical lab with director oversight for the MD/DO pathway • Experience performing high complexity genetic testing • 4+ years of post-certification experience reviewing and signing out clinical test reports, or 7+ years of total experience reviewing and signing out clinical test reports or equivalent • Current New York state Certificate of Qualification in appropriate areas of oversight as necessary, or ability to obtain within 6 months • Demonstrated ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodation • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship • Ability to manage confidential information • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, health care providers, and vendors • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and project teams • Compliance with company SOPs, quality management policies, and applicable regulations • Ability to work designated schedules, including nights and/or weekends as needed • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or computer and type for approximately 90% of a typical working day • Ability to travel up to 10% of working time, potentially including overnight/weekend travel • Ability to act with an inclusion mindset
