📋 Description

• Lead the team and drive strategies for the entire revenue cycle process of a clinical independent laboratory • Communicate department health to leadership through meetings, conference calls, presentations and reports • Monitor billing compliance with third-party payer regulations • Implement and assist with staff education programs • Develop and maintain revenue cycle priorities, procedures and policies for Exact Sciences • Determine performance metrics and staffing requirements for efficient, accurate department operations and customer service • Develop processes for information flow between third-party billing vendors, receivables and the Exact Sciences contact center • Design and execute strategies and infrastructure to drive collection of earned reimbursement for laboratory operations • Develop processes and policies for exception handling, appeals, denials and balance billing • Monitor client accounts receivable activity and performance and initiate corrective measures • Investigate denial sources and trends, and resolve and appeal denials with cross-functional teams • Ensure customer satisfaction through courteous communication, problem solving and efficient processes • Oversee daily performance of the revenue cycle department and accounts receivable operations • Motivate the team on month-end goals and metrics and report month-end activity to leadership • Promote collaboration within and outside the department • Monitor departmental processes against performance metrics and report to leadership • Hire, coach, inspire and motivate team members; manage productivity and service performance metrics • Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance • Supervise staff, including organizing work, conducting performance reviews, training and managing performance • Implement staff reporting and key productivity and accuracy metrics • Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures • Maintain regular and reliable attendance

🎯 Requirements

• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business or related field; or high school degree/general education diploma and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree • 8+ years of experience working in the medical/healthcare billing area • Strong, demonstrated knowledge of managing claims processing • 5+ years of leadership experience with demonstrated ability to recruit, assess, motivate and inspire others • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties with or without accommodation • Extensive understanding and experience with medical billing, Medicare compliance, payer audits, independent laboratory industry and personnel • Experience with personnel management, team leadership and team building • Familiarity with payer/insurance appeals and reimbursement processes, insurance industry and professional billing • Knowledge of Medicare billing regulations, compliance and reimbursement methodologies, especially in laboratory environments • Knowledge of third-party billing service providers such as Xifin and Epic, revenue cycle management software and outsourced billing organizations • Strong analytical and forecasting skills • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills • Adaptability and ability to work in ambiguous situations • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and presentation skills • Ability to work Monday through Friday during normal business hours • Ability to work at a computer and/or type for approximately 80% of a typical working day • Preferred: leadership in accounts receivable or billing operations; laboratory payer and provider billing experience; CPC, CPM, CPCO, CPMA or similar certification; membership in patient accounting organizations such as AHAM
