• Maximize opportunities for AbbVie’s Anti-Infective product portfolio within the assigned geography • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with hospitals, IDNs, academic institutions, outpatient accounts, long-term care facilities, government accounts, and specialty private practices • Increase patient access, develop new business, expand current business, optimize resource utilization, and achieve geography sales goals • Advance hospital and specialty customers along the sales continuum and gain prescriber commitments • Deliver on-label presentations and sales calls highlighting product benefits and risks • Differentiate the portfolio’s value proposition with C-suite executives, physicians, hospital staff, and support personnel • Solve product and patient-flow issues through Specialty Pharmacy, Specialty Distribution, and Buy and Bill channels • Coordinate stakeholders across departments around patient-focused solutions • Partner with in-field and in-house AbbVie teams, including MSLs, National Director of Accounts, and Key Account Directors • Create, execute, and monitor strategic geography business plans • Determine account-level department, channel, HCP focus, and contact frequency • Source and interpret account data; maintain account profiles and relationship maps • Target key stakeholders and decision-makers to expand physician usage and the customer base • Participate in local boards, societies, conventions, and HCP meetings • Represent AbbVie and assigned products at industry venues and communicate key findings internally • Complete required training and comply with company policies and OEC/Legal procedures • Meet HCIR credentialing requirements for facility and organization access • Collaborate across healthcare institutions and cross-functional teams to develop compliant communication strategies
• Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience required • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, at least five (5) years of experience, including three (3) or more years preferred within the pharmaceutical, health, or science industry • High school diploma/GED required • Account-based selling experience with hospitals, wound care centers, or infusion centers • Experience building hospital advocacy for acute products • Experience navigating matrix environments and complex customers such as IDNs, academic institutions, hospitals, and outpatient accounts • Knowledge of formulary approval processes and driving formulary approvals • Buy and Bill and specialty pharmacy product experience preferred • Documented strong sales performance in challenging markets or product portfolios • Advanced sales skills and ability to communicate novel or complex products and processes • Ability to work independently as an individual contributor in a collaborative environment • Strong business acumen, accountability, and ownership of a sales geography • Ability to multitask, solve problems, and influence without authority • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple accounts • Analytical ability to analyze diverse data sets using multiple tools and define account/program strategies • Strong planning, organization, presentation, and facilitation skills • Ability to learn procedural, technical, and clinical information quickly • Ability to understand and present complex scientific information to varied audiences • Strong problem-resolution skills • Ability to build collaborative partnerships and influence peers • Ability to fully cover the assigned geography • Valid driver’s license • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe-driving requirements • Ability to travel adequately, including overnight training events and sales meetings • Ability to drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment • Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials, which may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and state- or city-specific licenses
