• Lead a region team promoting AbbVie's sustained-release glaucoma implant portfolio • Manage district sales results against goals and operate within expense guidelines • Recruit, hire, train, develop, coach, counsel, and performance-manage district colleagues • Oversee development and succession planning • Lead regional sales direction and execute marketing plans • Provide feedback on marketing plan implementation and support product strategy initiatives • Identify, develop, and manage relationships with established and emerging physicians, practices, and accounts • Implement account-management plans and allocate resources to key accounts • Manage customer relationship issues and opportunities • Understand the local, regional, and national marketplace • Lead and motivate the team to achieve district goals • Provide leadership in needs-based account selling, KOL promotional programs, and key account management • Support short- and long-term US Interventional Glaucoma strategy, tactical execution, promotional initiatives, and business goals • Develop and implement improved procedures and practices while establishing and pursuing district objectives
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field • MBA preferred • Minimum 5–7 years of Healthcare/Pharmaceutical, buy and bill, or device experience • Sales experience • Business analysis and planning skills that drive sales performance • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills • Ability to articulate scientific aspects of treatments and therapeutic areas • Proven ability to deliver candid, effective feedback and manage performance efficiently • Ability to develop talent for promotional opportunities • Ability to create a culture of winning and full team engagement • Ability to collaborate and influence without authority across organizations • Valid driver's license • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements • Ability to travel a minimum of 75% to cover the territory, including overnight training events and sales meetings • Ability to drive a personal auto, company car or truck, or powered material-handling equipment • Must satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials, including possible background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and specific state or city licenses
