📋 Description

• Refine journal scope in collaboration with ACMG leadership and the publisher • Recruit and mentor an international Editorial Board • Oversee the peer review process, with the assistance of staff • Make final publication decisions • Commission content, including Special Issues • Promote the journal globally at scientific meetings and through professional networks • Attract high-quality international submissions • Engage ACMG membership and other stakeholders to grow readership, authorship, and editorial participation — particularly among early career researchers • Represent the journal at key conferences • Monitor key performance metrics, including submissions, decisions, and citations • Champion open access, author experience, and accessibility

🎯 Requirements

• Strong scholarly record in translational genomics or a related field • Peer-reviewed publishing experience, as an author and/or editor • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to build and lead an international team of editors • Demonstrated ability to articulate and execute a strategic vision for journal growth and development • Commitment to scientific integrity, rigor, and inclusivity in publishing • Editorial experience at a biomedical or genetics journal (preferred) • Active international engagement (Europe, Australia, Asia) (preferred) • Familiarity with open access publishing (preferred) • ACMG membership, or willingness to join (preferred)
