• Prepare environmental remediation estimates using Sage Estimating Software and Microsoft Excel • Manage estimate preparation and support proposal teams developing remediation technical approaches • Lead project team estimate reviews • Collaborate with project teams and management to develop strategies and plans • Analyze estimates to predict key project issues • Clearly document assumptions during the bid process and work execution • Evaluate business opportunities and potential profitability • Apply financial analysis and calculate profitability metrics • Understand construction means, methods, and sequences across multiple disciplines • Supervise junior staff, establish goals and expectations, and document performance issues and achievements • Identify and develop talent and participate in staffing issues • Track action items • Prepare or assist with ROIC and IRR forecasts • Work with subcontractors to resolve technical matters during proposals, negotiation, and contract execution • Prepare crew build-ups and production rate determinations • Determine construction equipment selection • Apply planning and scheduling knowledge • Understand company cost structure, including overheads, G&A, and insurance • Develop Work Breakdown Structures • Evaluate scope and execution plans as the basis of estimate • Prepare Estimate Plans, Bases of Estimate, and qualifications • Prepare bid tabulations meeting customer and Request for Proposal requirements • Collect, analyze, and archive project data • Develop historical documentation and compare current estimates with prior performance and market benchmarks • Prepare information for Executive Review Committee presentations
• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Administration in Business AND 6+ years of estimator-related work experience, including environmental remediation, OR demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education • Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check • US Citizenship required • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel • Proficiency with Sage Estimating Software • Ability to travel nationwide, up to 40% of the time • Experience preparing successful estimates for competed, large (>$10M), firm fixed priced-performance based environmental remediation work highly desired • Proficiency with RACER cost estimating tool preferred
