📋 Description

• Develop and design heat rejection and HVAC systems tailored for data centers • Select appropriate air- and water-side cooling systems, including fan wall units, CRAHs, chilled water, DX, CRAC, in-row cooling, and containment solutions • Conduct internal and external computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations and analyze results • Recommend design modifications and optimize heat rejection and HVAC system performance • Coordinate design changes and their effects with other project trades • Design redundant and fault-tolerant HVAC systems, including backup cooling, automatic switchover, and monitoring systems • Perform heat load calculations and capacity planning for current and future data center requirements • Perform HVAC loads for administrative and common facility sections • Implement energy-efficient HVAC strategies, including economizers, variable speed drives, energy recovery, and airflow optimization • Design filtration systems and air-quality monitoring mechanisms • Address particulate matter, humidity control, and contaminant removal • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to integrate HVAC with electrical infrastructure, UPS, emergency power, fire suppression, and other critical systems • Work in a hands-on, client-facing role on high-profile data center projects for global clients • Collaborate with AECOM teams around the world

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education • Experience in data center mechanical and electrical equipment installation and operation • P.E. registration is required • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, HVAC engineering, or a related field from an accredited university is typically required • Knowledge of data center TIER Standard Topology per Uptime Institute, TIA 942, and ANSI/BICSI 002 • Sponsorship is not available for this position • Must attend in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office as a condition of employment • Master's degree or advanced coursework in HVAC systems or energy management preferred • Professional HVAC certifications such as CEM, BEMP, or LEED accreditation advantageous
