📋 Description

• Direct and oversee day-to-day rail operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient service • Monitor operational performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed • Develop and maintain operating procedures, schedules, and contingency plans • Coordinate service delivery activities and respond to operational disruptions and emergencies • Ensure compliance with all applicable FRA, FTA, OSHA, and company regulations and standards • Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for rolling stock, track, signals, facilities, and related infrastructure • Develop maintenance schedules and asset management strategies to maximize system reliability • Monitor equipment performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives • Manage maintenance planning, resources, inventory, and vendor relationships • Ensure timely resolution of maintenance issues affecting operations • Lead, mentor, and develop operations and maintenance personnel • Foster a culture centered on safety, accountability, teamwork, and customer service • Conduct performance evaluations and support employee training and development • Ensure adequate staffing and workforce planning to support operational requirements • Champion a strong safety culture across all departments • Lead investigations of incidents, accidents, and service disruptions • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, operating rules, and maintenance standards • Support audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews • Develop and manage departmental budgets • Monitor expenditures and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies • Support capital improvement projects and long-term asset management planning • Provide operational analysis and reporting to senior leadership

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Transportation, Operations Management, Business, or a related field • Ten years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership • 7 years of progressive experience in rail operations, maintenance, or transportation management (preferred) • 3 years of leadership experience managing operational and/or maintenance teams (preferred) • Experience in rail systems, rolling stock, track infrastructure, signal systems, and maintenance practices (preferred) • Experience with safety management systems and regulatory compliance (preferred) • Experience in problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making (preferred) • Experience in passenger rail, commuter rail, light rail, heavy rail, or transit systems (preferred) • Professional certifications related to transportation, maintenance, safety, or project management (preferred) • Familiarity with CMMS, asset management systems, and performance reporting tools (preferred) • Knowledge of FRA, FTA, OSHA, and applicable transportation regulations (preferred)
