📋 Description

• Support proposal development by creating deliverable lists, estimating engineering hours, and providing mechanical engineering input for proposal write-ups • Serve as the lead mechanical engineer on medium to large projects • Maintain responsibility for the development of deliverables, management of junior mechanical engineering staff, and coordination with other disciplines • Coordinate with project management and other disciplines regarding design work, scope changes, engineering budgets, and schedule constraints • Perform and check engineering calculations, including equipment sizing, hydraulic analysis, and pipe stress analysis • Support the equipment procurement process, including the development of specifications and data sheets, obtaining quotations, completing technical bid tabulations, and reviewing equipment vendor data • Conduct occasional site visits for proposal development, project walkthroughs, field data acquisition, design verification, and construction support • Assist the design team with the development of the project model and system layout • Assist the Chief Mechanical Engineer with workload distribution for junior engineers and manpower loading plans • Provide feedback, mentorship, and leadership to developing engineers.

🎯 Requirements

• BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education • Professional Engineer (PE) License • Understanding of design, industrial process and energy projects • Experience in industrial and/or energy-related fields • Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Preferred) • 9+ years of experience in industrial and/or energy-related fields (Preferred) • Familiarity with industry codes and standards (API, ASME, PIP, ANSI, ASTM, etc.) (Preferred) • Experience with engineering calculation software packages (Pipe-Flo, Applied Flow Technology Fathom, CAESAR II) (Preferred)
