📋 Description

• Define the technical direction, long-term technical roadmap, and strategic initiatives for Cards • Lead AI adoption and model fast, high-quality engineering practices • Monitor FinTech industry developments and apply relevant insights • Partner with stakeholders across Affirm to implement technical excellence alongside business results • Build an ownership culture focused on scale, efficiency, accountability, and investment • Architect and contribute to platform, tooling, and technology decisions • Mentor and lead engineers while championing best practices and career growth • Create and implement technical strategy across full-stack teams • Coordinate stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performing solutions • Guide architectural choices and drive critical initiatives to successful delivery

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of experience working across the stack and driving backend architectural improvements • Experience driving change across large engineering organizations • Track record of leading critical projects across organizational boundaries • Extensive experience developing and implementing technical strategy that improves reliability and responsiveness • Ownership mindset • Collaborative partnership across engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders • Experience mentoring and growing engineers up to Staff level • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field • Bonus experience with React Native, JavaScript, or Kotlin
