📋 Description

• Help clients build enterprise value and serve as a trusted first call for founders • Grow earnings through contribution margin, advertising spend, pricing, inventory and cash optimization • Drive durable organic growth with healthy customer economics • Prove earnings quality through repeatable, contractual economics, strong LTV and margins • Reduce customer, channel, supplier and operational risks • Manage a portfolio of approximately 10 clients at full load • Run client onboarding, including profit tracker, constraint analysis, financial model and Growth Economics Audit • Build revenue, COGS, purchasing, payroll, overhead, cash, budget, balance-sheet and multi-year financial plans • Establish department scorecards and capital allocation frameworks • Hold weekly working sessions and scorecard reviews with founders • Review monthly close and financial models, with clear cash analysis • Advise on advertising spend, inventory purchases, hiring and funding decisions • Measure, diagnose and model responses to unfavorable metric movements • Review and direct analysts' and accountants' work • Reply to client messages the same day • Support interim CFO placements, lender calls, investor updates, board meetings, data rooms, quality-of-earnings preparation, sales calls and client proposals • Prepare clients for lenders, investors, due diligence and exits

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years in finance, including time as a CFO, VP Finance or head of FP&A in a growth company, or a PE, investment banking or transaction advisory background plus real operating experience • Strong three-statement, driver-based modelling skills, explainable to someone who hates spreadsheets • Experience with lenders, investors or acquirers in a raise, refinance, quality of earnings review, due diligence or exit • Understanding of what drives a multiple and experience helping a business improve one • Fluent business English, spoken and written • Ability to coach and empathize; founders and CEOs have acted on your advice • Based in the US, Canada, the UK or Europe, with good overlap with North American business hours • Ecommerce, DTC or CPG experience strongly preferred • Experience with contribution margin, CAC and payback, cohorts, inventory and cash conversion, Shopify and Amazon strongly preferred • CPA, CA, ACCA or CFA, or an MBA • Experience running a weekly operating cadence (EOS, scorecards, L10s or similar) • Experience coaching or managing analysts and accountants
