📋 Description

• Build and operate the enterprise data catalog, including metadata standards and complete owner, SLA, classification, lineage, and contract documentation • Implement automated lineage capture across ingestion pipelines, medallion transformations, and data product publication • Write and maintain pipeline-level data quality rules, alerting, and remediation workflows • Configure Snowflake governance controls, including RBAC, row- and column-level security, classification tags, masking policies, and access enforcement • Build access request and approval workflows for domain connections • Implement event contract governance, schema standards, registries, retention policies, and access policies • Build governance dashboards and metrics • Define and execute the enterprise data governance strategy, standards, roadmap, operating model, and policy lifecycle • Own data ownership, stewardship, quality, metadata, lineage, cataloging, classification, retention, and policy adoption agendas • Define and implement federated product review gates and governance standards • Design policy-aware AI and Agent Operations controls, including data guardrails, sensitive-data handling, traceability, auditability, and safe write-back patterns • Align governance policies with Security, Risk, Legal, and Architecture leaders • Drive governance KPIs and measures • Work directly with platform engineers during delivery sprints to review designs and implement controls • Support domain teams in the federated contribution model and review submitted products • Define governance requirements for business definitions, reference data, master data, and entity resolution • Build workflows that reduce friction while maintaining platform quality and control standards • Build and lead a small governance function, hiring and developing governance engineers and stewards • Influence business and technology stakeholders to establish data accountability and disciplined data practices

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience • 8 or more years of experience across data governance, data platform engineering, data architecture, analytics engineering, or related roles • At least 3 years in a leadership or lead role with responsibility for governance programs, stewardship models, or cross-functional data operating frameworks • Experience building and operating governance capabilities in a modern cloud data platform environment • Hands-on Snowflake governance experience, including RBAC, row/column-level security, classification tags, masking policies, and access governance • Hands-on experience implementing data catalogs and lineage tools • Experience writing and maintaining data quality rules within data pipelines • Experience governing event contracts and schemas in streaming or messaging environments such as Kafka or MuleSoft • Experience defining and executing data product governance standards • Experience designing and implementing governance controls for AI or agent-based use cases • Experience working embedded within an engineering team and participating in delivery sprints • Strong understanding of data governance disciplines • Experience in regulated, security-sensitive, or compliance-driven environments strongly preferred • Strong communication skills • Strong systems thinking • Practical understanding of governance for AI, automation, and agent-based execution • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and applicable standards • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance • Primarily office and computer-based work with standard technical leadership and collaboration expectations
