• Lead civil/structural engineering for multiple concurrent high-voltage substation projects • Provide civil and structural engineering design and construction support for assigned projects • Interface with clients and outside entities on technical issues • Provide technical support and guidance to designers, engineers, and project managers • Assist in developing engineering standards • Oversee engineering calculations and studies and review results • Perform civil and structural engineering calculations and designs for substations with subcontractors, engineers, and designers • Develop finite element structural models and steel design calculations, including connections and anchor rods • Develop structure design and fabrication drawings with designers • Develop reinforced concrete foundation calculations and foundation design drawings • Develop site-work drawings for embankment preparation, drainage, and erosion control • Coordinate design issues with clients and vendors, including meetings and conferences • Maintain engineering documents and records • Coordinate with purchasing and quality control personnel • Provide engineering specifications and information required to procure equipment • Review vendor submittals • Coordinate with contract administration to ensure client requirements are met • Participate in developing less experienced engineers and designers
• Professional Engineering license in one or more US states required • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering • 10+ years of experience in at least two of: foundation design, structural steel design, or transmission-level substations (13.8kV–500kV) • Highly motivated and able to execute tasks from a lead role • Good written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work well with others in a team setting • Skilled in engineering theories and principles • Skilled in researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making recommendations, and presenting recommendations • Skilled in problem solving in time-sensitive situations • Intermediate AutoCAD (2015 or later) • Intermediate MathCAD • Intermediate Microsoft Excel • Basic Microsoft Outlook • Basic Microsoft Project • Intermediate Microsoft Word • Advanced RISA or other structural analysis/design software • Ability to lift or move equipment up to 15 lbs.
