📋 Description

• Lead quantitative measurement efforts to drive decision-making across Airbnb’s payment experience • Generate hypotheses, develop causal inference frameworks, and develop and evaluate models for payment strategies • Focus on payments fraud mitigation and loss optimization to improve platform safety • Develop and apply experimental, econometric regression, and quasi-experimental causal inference methods • Build robust evaluation methods for ML/AI model efficiency and performance • Identify use cases and develop predictive models to classify, segment, and interpret user behavior • Support evaluation and optimization of agentic and LLM-based systems • Develop methodologies to simulate new interventions and build data products that optimize product and operational strategies • Deliver research reports and data visualizations • Collaborate with stakeholders, present findings, identify opportunities, and drive impact • Improve and scale brand measurement and customer insights

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience in a quantitative analysis role with a Master’s degree in a quantitative field, or 3+ years of experience with a PhD degree • Strong knowledge of causal inference, experimentation, applied statistical modeling, and end-to-end ML development • Skilled in statistical programming with Python or R • Database usage with SQL • Demonstrated track record of owning a business or technical domain end-to-end • Ability to set a roadmap, act as an accountable expert, and drive problems to resolution • Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively to audiences with varying technical levels • Ability to work independently, set a roadmap, and drive cross-functional alignment • Payments fraud/risk domain expertise is a strong plus • Familiarity with evaluating agentic or LLM-based systems is a plus • Must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity
