📋 Description

• Build models to identify opportunities for pricing and underwriting partners • Perform feature engineering, model development, and model monitoring and maintenance using medical, prescription drug, utilization management, and third-party data • Contribute to comprehensive analytics for pricing and underwriting • Execute special projects improving Commercial Healthcare underwriting • Create actionable insights and recommendations for business leaders supporting Cigna’s strategic objectives • Communicate work regularly with business stakeholders and senior leadership • Evaluate and leverage current analytic tools and techniques to modernize pricing and underwriting organizations • Ensure solutions deliver long-term value and integrate with current processes • Collaborate with business leaders to design, launch, and measure test-and-learn pilots • Develop GLM, machine learning, clustering, LLM, or other advanced models aligned to underwriting and actuarial business problems • Deliver robust, well-documented outputs with leadership, data science, business stakeholder, and engineering partners

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of direct Data Science experience in a healthcare-related environment • Strong background in statistics, machine learning, and model development • Experience deploying ML/predictive models to production or cloud environments • Strong skills with Python, SQL, Git, Keras, and TensorFlow • Knowledge of healthcare data such as claims, EHR, and laboratory data • Experience with best programming practices and writing clean, documented, well-structured code • Ability to conduct peer reviews • Ability to champion documentation and logging • Ability to own projects end-to-end, including scoping, ideation, development, and production • Ability to independently deliver clear, well-developed presentations for technical and business audiences • Ability to create data-science-specific project goals within high-level project deliverables • Ability to communicate timeline changes, rationale, and goals to meet deadlines • Home internet connection obtained through cable broadband or fiber optic service, with at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload, if working from home • MS or PhD in a STEM-related field preferred
