📋 Description

• Oversee and assist Billing and Collections Specialists to ensure processes are followed and assignments are completed timely • Complete weekly QA spot checks and provide staff feedback • Collaborate with Management and the QA Department to identify departmental training needs • Answer questions and provide support, assistance, and direction to team members • Relay updates and process changes and maintain current billing processes and procedures • Review aging reports to identify untimely account work and unpaid or underpaid claim trends • Resolve or escalate billing and collections issues appropriately • Resolve system issues or submit IT tickets • Select, develop, determine, and maintain teaching aids using audit tools • Report training opportunities to Management • Provide training for new teammates, existing teammates, and cross-functional efforts • Review staff productivity, track daily team statistics, and facilitate workflow • Complete assigned adjustments, reports, and account assignments • Review collector appeals for accuracy and thoroughness before submission to payors • Review payor bulletins and newsletters for changes affecting cash flow • Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance • Perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Five to eight years of related experience and/or training • Billing and Collections experience required • Knowledge of medical and billing terminology required • Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations regarding HIPAA, collections, filing insurance claims, and reimbursement from federal health care programs required • Knowledge of account reimbursement and receivables management • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills • Excellent organizational skills; detail-oriented; able to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines • Advanced customer service and phone skills • Ability to manage several projects concurrently • Problem-solving and complex claim analysis skills • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Regular scheduled attendance • 5% travel • Associate’s degree preferred • 1–2 years leadership/training experience preferred • Knowledge of Government, Commercial, and Private payers preferred
