📋 Description

• Set Alight’s AI direction and define a differentiated AI strategy and focused investment portfolio • Make build, buy, partner, and investment decisions while governing cost per outcome • Mature the AI reference architecture and shape the enterprise operating model • Lead a reusable, secure, reliable AI platform covering agentic foundations, orchestration, retrieval, knowledge access, model selection, evaluation, observability, and enterprise integration • Develop the AI Development Lifecycle with standards, testing, security, and quality gates • Deliver agentic AI-powered benefits experiences that help participants understand and act on their benefits • Own production outcomes including adoption, reliability, experience, and measurable value • Identify and scale intelligent automation across complex operational processes • Build responsible AI into solution design, evaluation, release, monitoring, and improvement • Partner with risk, security, privacy, legal, and compliance leaders on practical AI controls • Recruit, develop, and lead an AI organization spanning platform engineering, applied AI, product delivery, intelligent automation, quality and evaluation, and responsible AI • Represent Alight’s AI ambition with clients, partners, executives, and the broader market • Report to the senior executive leading Alight’s data, AI, and transformation agenda and partner across product, technology, operations, commercial, risk, and compliance

🎯 Requirements

• Proven technology and AI leadership experience with accountability for business outcomes • Led a multi-team AI, machine learning, software, or platform organization through other senior leaders • Deployed AI or complex technology products into production for a large user population with measurable value • Current fluency in generative AI, large language models, agentic systems, retrieval, evaluation, and production AI engineering • Built shared platforms or foundational capabilities used by multiple product and engineering teams • Owned a meaningful investment portfolio or budget and made build, buy, and partner decisions • Experience operating in a regulated, high-trust environment • Practical command of AI risk, privacy, security, and lifecycle governance • Recruited and developed senior technical leaders • Ability to communicate across engineers, clients, and executives • Essential technical depth to challenge architectures, probe evaluation approaches, and assess production readiness • Must have work authorization in the Employing Country without current or future visa sponsorship • Successful completion of a background check; applicable checks may include SSN/SIN validation, education verification, employment verification, criminal check, sanctions/watch-list search, credit check, and/or drug test • Virtual interviews must be conducted on video; camera-on participation may be required
