📋 Description

• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise security platforms • Architect and optimize security infrastructure, including endpoint protection, secrets management, vulnerability management, and identity security • Lead complex security engineering initiatives from capability-gap identification through implementation and operational handoff • Partner with Network Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Engineering, and Infrastructure teams to embed security controls • Design and implement security automation, orchestration, and engineering integrations • Lead enterprise vulnerability remediation efforts and implement long-term engineering improvements • Evaluate emerging security technologies and recommend enterprise adoption strategies • Develop enterprise engineering standards, operational procedures, and security baselines • Provide technical leadership during complex security incidents, investigations, and root cause analysis • Advise engineering and technology teams on secure infrastructure design, platform integrations, and security architecture • Develop security metrics and operational reporting • Mentor security engineers and promote engineering excellence • Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams on security control effectiveness and audit requirements • Research emerging security threats, engineering practices, automation technologies, and cloud security capabilities

🎯 Requirements

• 6–10 years of experience in security engineering, infrastructure security, cloud security, systems engineering, or a related information security discipline • Broad experience leading complex enterprise security engineering initiatives across multiple technology domains • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience • Advanced enterprise security engineering and platform architecture • Expertise with endpoint security, vulnerability management, secrets management, and identity security technologies • Cloud security engineering across AWS and modern infrastructure platforms • Security automation, orchestration, scripting, and systems integration • Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, networking, operating systems, and cloud technologies • Ability to lead complex cross-functional engineering initiatives and influence technical stakeholders • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and architectural problem-solving skills • Excellent written and verbal communication with technical and business audiences • Ability to travel onsite to Alkami HQ periodically (approximately 1–2 trips annually) for team meetings, offsites, or company events • CISSP, CCSP, GSEC, or comparable professional security certification • Experience supporting regulated financial services environments • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, automation frameworks, and cloud-native technologies • Experience evaluating and implementing emerging security platforms and engineering capabilities • Experience leading enterprise security platform modernization initiatives • Network security experience working with CloudFlare, PaloAlto or similar tools • Familiarity or desire to work with Agentic tools such as OpenAI Daybreak or similar to improve security • Candidates must be eligible to work in the US for full-time employment • Alkami cannot offer employment sponsorship at this time
