• Own and lead AIOA's Nonprofit Practice as a business unit with its own team, clients, and P&L • Set practice direction and own practice-level client outcomes, growth, profitability, team health, and performance • Own client portfolio retention, satisfaction, NPS, and expansion opportunities at the practice level • Serve as escalation point for complex or at-risk client situations beyond the CFO level • Set quality standards for nonprofit financial advisory work, including audit readiness, grant compliance, fund accounting accuracy, and board-level reporting • Drive service expansion through CFOs and close qualified nonprofit opportunities surfaced by Business Development • Deliver workbook analysis and Value Workshops • Develop strategic partnerships with auditors, attorneys, funders, and nonprofit leadership networks • Hire, develop, retain, and manage capacity for the practice team • Hold CFOs accountable to client outcomes, team health metrics, and EOS commitments • Create career pathways and development plans across practice roles • Own revenue, cost management, profitability, budgeting, and the full practice P&L • Develop and execute annual practice plans with growth targets, hiring plans, and service delivery goals • Report practice performance to the EVP, Operations using Scorecard, Rocks, and L10 meetings • Drive process improvements and best practices for nonprofit service delivery • Build AIOA's external reputation through industry events, publications, and referral relationships • Monitor nonprofit accounting standards, regulatory changes, funder requirements, and sector trends • Champion technology standards and advocate for new service lines or delivery approaches • Complete time tracking, capacity planning, and quarterly Rocks • Participate in the Brand Ambassador program and uphold security practices
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or another related field • 12–15+ years of progressive experience in nonprofit accounting and financial leadership • Proven track record of LMA — leading, managing, and holding teams accountable to outcomes • Deep expertise in nonprofit GAAP, fund accounting, audit management, and grant compliance • Demonstrated experience owning client portfolios and practice-level business outcomes • Established presence or network in the nonprofit sector • Executive-level communication with nonprofit leaders, boards, and external advisors • CPA strongly preferred • Multi-client or Client Accounting Services (CAS) experience strongly preferred • P&L ownership or business unit management experience strongly preferred • Experience in or strong familiarity with EOS preferred • Open to internal AIOA CFO candidates ready for practice leadership
