📋 Description

• Own and continuously strengthen controls across money movement workflows • Review, validate, and approve ACH, wire, RTP, check, and journal requests • Process and release transactions accurately within established SLAs • Reconcile daily cash movements, deposits, and settlement activity • Monitor and resolve exceptions, returns, rejects, and transaction discrepancies • Serve as a primary operational contact for custodians and banking partners • Prepare and review daily and monthly operational reports, including transaction coding oversight • Maintain documentation and case tracking in Salesforce and internal systems • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal controls, and data privacy standards • Identify operational risks and escalate suspicious or high-risk transactions • Support audits, reporting requirements, and special projects • Partner with Operations, Compliance, Risk, and Technology on process improvements • Train and coach internal teams; contribute to playbooks, SOPs, and onboarding for cashiering workflows

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field — or equivalent experience • 5+ years of experience in financial services, brokerage operations, banking, or cashiering • Direct experience processing money movements (ACH, wires, checks, journals, RTP preferred) • Experience interacting with custodians, clearing firms, or correspondent banks • Strong command of operational risk and fraud controls • High level of attention to detail and accuracy • Clear, confident written and verbal communication with internal stakeholders and external partners • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and elevate issues with context and recommendations • Preferred: Portfolio accounting or broker-dealer systems • Preferred: Experience in fintech or high-growth environments • Preferred: Prior ownership of SOPs, control frameworks, or audit support for cash/money movement operations • Preferred: Experience mentoring or training operations team members • Alignment with Alpaca’s company tenets: Stay Curious, Have Empathy, Be Accountable
