📋 Description

• Implement ALS Association signature fundraising events and support local third-party events • Execute a comprehensive plan to meet a $500,000 income portfolio goal • Manage fundraising events including the Walk to Defeat ALS in Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire • Recruit, steward, and retain event committee chairs, members, team captains, and individual walkers • Build strong relationships with community partners • Manage event logistics and delegate responsibilities to committee volunteers • Manage walk sites and other events within budget guidelines • Partner with Care Services staff to involve patients and families in awareness and fundraising activities • Collaborate with MarCom staff on marketing and public relations objectives • Conduct face-to-face meetings and phone and email contact with sponsors, donors, vendors, and volunteer committees • Represent the organization and speak at community events • Coordinate printing and distribution of event promotional materials • Work as part of the Territory team and support the Managing Director, Development, and team members • Ensure integration of Association standards and guidelines • Attend Territory events and meetings as required • Collaborate with Programs and Development departments to improve fundraising and mission activities • Perform other duties supporting mission and fundraising goals • Convey an image that reflects favorably on The ALS Association

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience • Minimum of two years’ experience in fundraising, event management, volunteer development and management, public relations, donor cultivation and relations, or corporate sponsor cultivation • Skilled at managing participants in an online fundraising platform • Ability to run reports and analyze data to build strategic outreach plans • Strong organizational skills • Good judgment in prioritizing event schedules and knowing when to seek supervisor input • Effective oral and written communication with multiple constituencies • Strong follow-up and follow-through • Ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive records and information • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a Windows environment • Ability to quickly train and use donor databases such as Donor Pro and Convio • Ability to travel on Association business as required • Experience with Quark, Illustrator, Publisher, and/or Photoshop is a plus • Ability to work with confidential information • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including occasional lifting of more than ten pounds
