📋 Description

• Analyze mechanical and electromechanical components and assemblies using finite element analysis (FEA) for static structural and dynamic loads with minimal guidance • Use solid and shell meshing analysis approaches • Collect, develop, and analyze design inputs • Generate hand calculations to support design decisions • Work under a senior engineer on larger projects when applicable • Lead or participate in design reviews • Estimate scope and duration of proposed analysis projects • Provide inputs to project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and tracking • Communicate with vendors, team, and project managers to advance projects • Assist in quoting and estimating future design and analysis projects • Identify design and product risks and mitigations • Adhere to ALTEN Technology’s Quality System processes • Compile and present engineering design and analysis documentation meeting regulatory requirements • Coordinate with Mechanical Design, Electrical, Systems, and Software Engineering disciplines • Work on projects across defense, space, aviation, robotics, and medical industries • Provide embedded customer support for short durations, typically remotely

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in engineering from an accredited college or university plus 4+ years of engineering analysis and product development experience OR Master’s Degree (M.S.) in engineering from an accredited college or university plus 2+ years of engineering analysis and product development experience • Strong knowledge of FEA, specifically using Femap with NX Nastran for structural and dynamic analysis of mechanical components • Knowledge of CAD packages, preferably SolidWorks • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) • Experience with drone equipment or analysis of composite structures • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present and report technical findings • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems using engineering principles without supervision • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form • Ability to share and manage time among multiple projects effectively • Only US Persons (citizens or permanent residents) need apply • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening required as a condition of hire
