• Support organization-wide data classification programs for international and government contexts • Coordinate and maintain data classification schemas and consistent tagging and handling in warehouses and pipelines • Implement and maintain classification-driven security controls in data warehouses • Manage data sovereignty, localization requirements, and cross-border transfer mechanisms • Ensure compliance with international privacy regulations and government security frameworks • Prepare for audits, maintain Authorization to Operate evidence, and implement required security controls • Secure data ingestion, transformation, movement processes, APIs, SFTP, EDI, and messaging queues • Enforce access controls based on data classification, clearance levels, and need-to-know principles • Conduct access reviews and recertifications • Support risk assessments, vulnerability scans, penetration testing, log monitoring, and SIEM threat detection • Support security incident investigations and forensic activities • Partner with data engineering, compliance, legal, and government stakeholders • Advise on secure data sharing with international partners and government agencies • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or related field • Typically five (5) years of experience in data security, specifically in international and/or government or public sector environments • Hands-on experience with major cloud and on-premise data platforms in secure environments • Experience implementing encryption, key management, DLP, and secure data exchange protocols • US Citizenship is required • Deep knowledge of data classification frameworks and tools in regulated settings • Strong understanding of international privacy and data protection laws, including GDPR and Schrems II • Strong understanding of U.S. Government standards, including FedRAMP, NIST, FISMA, and DoD SRG • Knowledge of cloud security and compliance across AWS, Azure, and GCP Government Cloud • Skill in security risk assessments and forensic investigations compliant with global breach notification laws • Ability to translate regulations into actionable, automated technical controls • Ability to maintain clear, audit-ready evidence • Preferred security certifications include CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CRISC, CDPSE, Security+, and CAP • Preferred cloud certifications include AWS Certified Security, Azure Security Engineer, and Google Cloud Professional Security Engineer • Familiarity with Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Alation, and automated classification tools • Experience with hybrid/multi-cloud architectures and secure government cloud environments • Scripting skills in Python, SQL, and PowerShell • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, presentation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
