β’ Provide training and professional development opportunities for service providers and families through in-person, virtual, webinar, or guided support β’ Serve as a liaison between APH and states in the assigned region β’ Provide current information about APH products and services and represent APH at conferences β’ Support APH programs for eligible students and families β’ Build and maintain relationships with service providers, EOTs, OOAs, personnel preparation programs, and blindness-field professionals β’ Lead selected APH training opportunities, exhibits, conferences, and professional development events β’ Present sessions at national, regional, state, consumer, and professional gatherings β’ Develop and deliver workshops, seminars, curricula, agendas, and training materials in videos, PowerPoints, blogs, and the APH learning management system β’ Research, maintain, and disseminate knowledge of APH policies, the Federal Quota system, products, services, and best practices β’ Collaborate with Project Leaders, Customer Service, EPI, and field professionals on product launches, professional development, knowledge sharing, and outreach content β’ Identify, track, and engage blindness-field professionals for professional development and outreach initiatives β’ Perform other duties as assigned
β’ Bachelor's degree in special education, social work, vocational rehabilitation, or related field β’ Master's degree preferred β’ Degree in blindness/low vision, orientation and mobility, and/or related field preferred β’ 3+ yearsβ working with blind, low vision, or deafblind individuals β’ Experience working with children and/or families, particularly in disability or blindness-related settings preferred β’ Demonstrated knowledge of IDEA, IEP/IFSP processes, and family systems in special education β’ Familiarity with braille/AT ecosystems and accessibility considerations in digital learning tools β’ Strong critical thinking skills and self-starter mentality β’ Ability to take initiative and lead project efforts as needed β’ A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered when competency in the role is demonstrated
