📋 Description

• Handle litigation involving the corporation and/or its insured within corporate guidelines and applicable professional responsibility rules • Analyze files as litigation progresses • Evaluate cases and seek settlement as necessary • Oversee outside counsel throughout litigation of complex claims • Review motions and briefs and provide feedback • Conduct legal research as necessary • Observe court hearings and trials as necessary • Stay current on state statutes and court decisions and analyze their effect on policy provisions • Supervise higher-complexity litigation across multiple lines of business • Report to a senior manager, litigation

🎯 Requirements

• Coverage experience preferred • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service • Demonstrated experience preparing civil pleadings, motions and discovery • Demonstrated experience deposing witnesses • Demonstrated litigation experience • Solid knowledge and understanding of professional responsibility rules for the jurisdiction in which they practice • Solid knowledge and understanding of tort, contract, and insurance law • Admitted to the state bar in the state where they are located • Juris Doctor • Must complete applicable background checks • Must sign a non-disclosure agreement for proprietary information, trade secrets, and inventions • Sponsorship will not be considered unless specified in the posting
