📋 Description

• Lead global category management and strategy for Full-Service CROs supporting fully outsourced clinical trials • Develop multi-year category strategies aligned with business objectives and cost reduction/sourcing initiatives • Analyze internal demand, external market data, spend, and specifications to produce category plans • Lead sourcing, negotiations, contracts, amendments, commercial terms, rates, and discounts with vendors • Partner with R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Compliance, Legal, Data Privacy, and Cybersecurity teams • Drive supplier governance, performance, risk mitigation, quality delivery, and issue resolution • Monitor market trends, intelligence, and evolving digital health regulations • Provide strategic oversight and act as a trusted procurement advisor • Facilitate collaboration across cross-functional teams and regional stakeholders • Oversee strategic negotiations for CRO MSAs, amendments, study-level agreements, and purchase orders • Guide RFPs, supplier evaluations, contract development, and delegation of sourcing activities

🎯 Requirements

• Doctorate degree and 3 years of Global Strategic Sourcing, Procurement experience; OR Master’s degree and 5 years; OR Bachelor’s degree and 7 years; OR Associate’s degree and 12 years; OR High school diploma/GED and 14 years • Familiarity with procurement platforms such as Ariba, ERP systems, and advanced analytics tools • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills • Strong analytical skills, including analyzing large datasets, identifying trends, and deriving actionable insights • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex global projects in a matrixed environment • Familiarity with compliance frameworks including 21 CFR Part 11, GxP, HIPAA, and GDPR • Extensive knowledge of the global vendor landscape supporting clinical trials, including CROs, SMOs, AMCs, and CRO-adjacent vendors • Proven global category management and executive business partnering experience • Deep understanding of category management, supplier relationship management, and contract lifecycle management • Strong financial, legal, and contractual fluency • Track record of driving innovation in category strategy, supplier engagement models, and stakeholder partnerships • Exceptional ability to communicate complex strategies, influence senior stakeholders, and manage change across functions and regions • Ability to leverage spend analytics and benchmarking • Understanding of regulatory landscapes and compliance requirements • Ability to partner with Legal, Compliance, Cybersecurity, and Regulatory Affairs • Strong contractual and regulatory navigation skills for healthcare technology agreements
