📋 Description

• Help digitize vivarium operations through data standardization, workflow design, web application development and deployment, and analytics • Evaluate existing room-log workflows • Develop standardized data and metadata structures • Create a prototype digital workflow for capturing and analyzing vivarium activities • Support development of a web application or tool for structured data capture • Develop a visualization and analytics system around vivarium operational data to improve laboratory scientist efficiency • Assist the Data Sciences team in FAIR data normalization and harmonization • Collaborate and communicate new digital workflows with end users and non-technical experts

🎯 Requirements

• Must be available to work a full-time schedule • Expected continued enrollment in an accredited college or university following the internship program / co-op • Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship program • 18 years or older • Graduated with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university • Currently enrolled in an MBA program for an MBA internship OR a Master’s program for a Master’s internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR Ph.D. for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university • Completion of the first year of the MBA, Master’s, PharmD, or Ph.D. program before the internship starts • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. for the duration of this program • Degree concentration(s) in Data Sciences, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Analytics or related field • Strong understanding of FAIR data standards, with experience in data transformation and harmonization • Experience utilizing artificial intelligence for assistance with developing structured workflows and analytic systems with human-in-the-loop confirmation • Knowledge of quality control and explainable AI techniques • Experience with Smartsheet data extraction • Experience working with DataBricks, Plotly or Lovable • Experience developing web applications, centralizing disparate data and developing analytics dashboards • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to reproducible, transparent research practices • Demonstrated willingness to embrace new challenges and explore unfamiliar topics • Background in biology or pharmaceutical research a plus • Experience with version control (Git), code documentation, and application transition to future development team
