• Build physician partnerships and set the Division’s growth strategy • Manage clinical, financial, and operational performance of an approximately $300M operational portfolio • Establish a shared Division vision and ensure supporting people and operational processes are in place • Foster a people-centric, success-oriented, accountable company culture • Attract, recruit, retain, motivate, and lead the operations team • Ensure healthy board governance and participate in board meetings as needed • Report regulatory issues, ASC industry updates, lobbying efforts, and relevant health system, physician practice management, and private equity relationship updates • Inform people development, professional growth, and management approaches for the Division • Manage Directors of Operations and provide strategic direction for operational excellence • Implement initiatives with the SVP to improve regional partner relationships and center management • Coach DOOs and center leaders in building provider relationships • Articulate corporate initiatives and develop implementation plans with DOOs • Oversee and continuously improve quality, operational efficiency, cost management, risk management, regulatory compliance, teammate engagement and retention, provider engagement, and growth strategy • Develop and execute the Division portfolio strategy • Maintain relationships with health system joint ventures, physician partnerships, and physician practice management MSOs • Develop Division business planning and growth strategy with the SVP and business development leadership • Identify new regional opportunities within communities and across payers • Own physician relationships and address their growth needs • Support organic growth and strategic initiatives • Expand same-store and Division volume and revenue • Support acquisition due diligence for new center opportunities • Lead DOOs and center leaders in business development due diligence • Represent AMSURG with key stakeholders and maintain strong physician partnerships • Drive the clinician value proposition and Patient-Centered-Care • Sell and influence adoption of strategic initiatives • Provide AMSURG advocacy updates to provider partners • Serve as an active member of the Partnership Board of Directors • Manage Division portfolio financial performance • Develop financial reporting, quarterly forecasts, and budget models • Assist with managed care messaging throughout the Division • Review the Division portfolio, develop the Division budget, and assist operations leads with center-level budgets • Manage and challenge portfolio and growth targets • Report suspected compliance violations and prohibited activities • Lead less senior operations leaders during crises • Assess crises, leverage resources, develop and communicate action plans, conduct debriefs, determine root causes, and implement mitigation plans
• Proven experience in a leadership role with a track record of driving team success and achieving organizational objectives • Demonstrated ability to identify and address opportunities or challenges without direct oversight • Excellent interpersonal skills for working with physicians, staff members, and external customers • Strong management skills and ability to oversee complex projects and multiple priorities • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Comfortable presenting to senior management, boards, community divisions, and physicians • Proven ability to take initiative and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision • Ability to manage ambiguity in a highly matrixed organization • Demonstrated growth mindset and commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement • Ability to embrace challenges, learn from feedback, and adapt to evolving situations • Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time, with an average travel commitment of 40–60% • Home base in Nashville, DFW, Chicago, or Atlanta • Bachelor’s degree and/or master’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or a relevant field, and/or equivalent work • Minimum ten (10) years of healthcare operations management experience • Extensive healthcare operations leadership experience in a multi-state integrated healthcare delivery system • Experience with a minimum of $100M+ revenue of direct P&L responsibility • Must read and abide by the company code of conduct, ethics statements, employee handbook(s), policies and procedures, corporate mandates, and mandatory training programs
