📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Editor and Program Manager to revise and develop writing assignments to completion • Conduct in-depth historical research to support assignments • Write record descriptions, personalized stories based on historical records, and blog posts • Ensure assignments follow style guidelines, department goals and values, quality and tone standards, and demonstrate audience awareness • Support facts and information with thorough research • Complete writing assignments by submission deadlines • Provide status updates and reports to the Editor and Program Manager as requested • Report to the Program Manager of Content Strategy and work closely with the Program Manager and Editor

🎯 Requirements

• Degree in history, English, journalism, or related field preferred, or equivalent professional writing experience • Experience writing about historical events • Experience writing about sensitive topics • Background in African American, Latin American, Native American, Asian American, American, British, French, European, or Australian studies • Excellent writing and editing skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to interpret and implement guidelines and standards • Ability to adhere to a style guide and tone • Strong internet and research skills • Attention to detail and accuracy • Self-starter • Background in family history • All job offers are contingent on a background check screen
