📋 Description

• Oversee the import process directly or through direct reports • Ensure compliance with U.S. and foreign government laws and regulations • Guide customers through customs requirements and processes • Prepare and submit customs documents • Determine tariff and duty payments • Track shipments and classify shipments using the tariff coding system • Ensure required government forms and information are compliant and provided appropriately • Resolve customer problems accurately and professionally • Help importers and exporters understand and meet federal trade rules and regulations • Collaborate with sales to pursue new sales leads and discuss and sell company services to current clients • Work with Operations and Customs to resolve issues • Operate the office when the manager is absent unless the district manager is standing in • Provide instructions to direct reports, assign duties, and review work for accuracy and policy compliance • Address performance issues or grievances proactively • Assist subordinates with departmental work • Stay current on customs and Deringer procedure changes • Export audit reports and assign them to regional employees • Manage aging and unresolved audits, communicating status and providing guidance • Provide coverage for CHB operations when regional staffing needs arise • Perform Relationship Reviews with Key Account Managers and Sales • Support regional cross-training and development initiatives • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma/GED • Previous supervisory or managerial experience • Previous training experience • Previous experience with the shipment clearance process • Previous experience keying entries • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) preferred • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) preferred • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time
