📋 Description

• Develop and author Airworthiness certification and conformance plans for developmental and production aircraft stores, supporting Flight Releases, tailored airworthiness, and customer platform integration across all services • Perform technical airworthiness planning, tracking, and verification support within a digital environment • Develop and negotiate airworthiness bases of certification, means of compliance, and other certification activities • Cultivate total-system Airworthiness relationships with engineers, technical authorities, and customer partners • Guide technical reviews across total system design, development, and test processes • Perform functional and process analyses, requirements allocation, and definition studies with program engineers and customer representatives • Translate customer requirements into criteria and derived requirements • Realize customer airworthiness certification objectives and update Airworthiness plans throughout the product lifecycle • Support design development toward Airworthiness compliance and processes leading to Military Flight Release or other customer-specific airworthiness approval • Solicit engineering and systems data for Airworthiness Boards, technical interchange meetings, and risk assessments • Develop, author, and maintain Airworthiness activities in a digital environment interconnected with system requirements, schedules, flight test point matrices, and risk assessments • Perform statistical analysis of program performance and provide input to flight test program execution schedules • Develop creative solutions to technical and execution challenges and engage the team to resolve problems

🎯 Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or aviation related engineering degree; equivalent engineering experience may substitute in lieu of education • 8+ years airworthiness engineering experience • Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with DoW and FAA airworthiness authorities • Experience with DoW Airworthiness Policy Directives, Instructions, and Airworthiness Bulletins (MIL-HDBK-516, Seek Eagle Process, WSESRB, NNMSB, etc.) • Experience working FAA Airworthiness processes throughout the life cycle of a developmental aircraft system to achieve successful program completion • Experience developing and managing Airworthiness plans, tracking Airworthiness criteria, and similar activities • Experience with store integration on DoW platforms • Ability to develop and execute Airworthiness Certification process improvement initiatives • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, emphasizing technical subjects • Strong computer and documentation experience • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret-Level security clearance • Preferred: Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or aviation related technical discipline • Preferred: 15+ years flight airworthiness engineering experience • Preferred: Systems engineering and Airworthiness experience with new small UAS and missile system airworthiness authorizations • Preferred: Previous Airworthiness Engineering Lead or Airworthiness Engineer experience • Preferred: Airworthiness experience on a team that executed new store integration activities • Preferred: Experience working with the Department of War (DoW) as a contractor
