📋 Description

• Perform Benefit Verification Technician duties while providing day-to-day leadership, workflow coordination, quality oversight, and team training • Coordinate daily workflow, prioritize assignments, monitor work queues, and balance workloads • Serve as the first point of contact and subject matter expert for complex benefit verification questions and escalations • Communicate priorities, operational updates, and workflow changes to the team • Identify workflow inefficiencies and recommend process improvements • Develop training materials and assist with onboarding, training, and coaching • Ensure accurate and timely patient documentation across ePrescribe and pharmacy software systems • Verify private, Medicaid, Medicare, VA, IHS, and other insurance coverage and patient facility coverage • Determine eligibility for AON Pharmacy services, network participation, and claim adjudication results • Refer prescriptions to Prior Authorization, Financial Assistance, Patient Assistance Program, and external specialty pharmacy teams as appropriate • Determine specialty pharmacy network participation, limited distribution requirements, and REMS eligibility • Coordinate specialty pharmacy referrals and communication with patients, providers, clinics, nursing teams, and dispensing pharmacies • Troubleshoot complex claim adjudication, coordination of benefits, payer requirement, and coverage-barrier issues • Obtain Limited Distribution overrides when appropriate and escalate unresolved issues to leadership • Monitor team communications, phone calls, and email responses for professionalism and timeliness • Support coaching, quality audits, performance reviews, standardized workflows, and operational excellence • Verify department compliance training completion and maintain patient and employee confidentiality under HIPAA • Assist with compliant handling of Protected Healthcare Information under federal and state guidelines and accreditation standards • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, providers, clinics, and internal departments

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required • Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a specialty, retail, mail order, or hospital pharmacy • Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-site healthcare environment with competing priorities preferred • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, including remote work when required • Experience supporting operational initiatives, process improvements, and team collaboration preferred • Active, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician permit in the state of residence required • Willingness to obtain a Florida Pharmacy Technician permit, if applicable • Strong critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills • Excellent time management, attention to detail, and independent judgment • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, conflict resolution, delegation, and relationship-building skills • Professionalism, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, discretion, and confidentiality • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual skills are a plus • Strong customer service orientation • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Knowledge of ONCO, ORCA, and CPR+ preferred • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and AON's C.A.R.E. Values • Ability to travel 0-25% • Ability to sit for extended periods, with occasional walking and standing • Ability to use a computer and phone • Ability to perform interpersonal communication and accurate data entry • Understanding of billing and insurance procedures • Must maintain continuing education requirements for licensure • Must maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information under HIPAA
